Delete your account

You can permanently delete your Treasure Hunt Explore account at any time. Deletion is performed from inside the app:

Delete from the app

Open the app and sign in.
Go to your profile and open Settings (the cog icon).
Open User settings.
Tap Delete account at the bottom and confirm.

Deletion takes effect immediately: your session ends and the account cannot be recovered.

What is deleted

Your sign-in identity (email, Google or Apple account link).
Your profile: name, username, bio and profile photo.
Your push-notification registrations and online-presence data.
Your delivery country, language preference and subscription tier.
Your in-app notification history, including the copies it held of messages other players sent you.
Your name and photo wherever they were shown on other players' chat lists.
Photos you sent in direct messages.
Your name-change and username-change history.

What is retained

Messages you already sent to other players remain in their conversations, no longer attributed to your name.
Messages you wrote in a prize handover chat stay with that prize's record, without your name.
Treasure hunts you created remain available to players, shown without your name.
Reports other players filed about you, and the message evidence attached to them. We keep these so that deleting an account cannot erase a safety record; the evidence is removed once the report is closed, and in any case after one year.
Records we must keep for legal or security reasons (for example subscription transaction records held by the app stores, and our own record of subscription events received from them).
Crash reports, if the app ever stopped unexpectedly on your device. When that happens we send Google’s Firebase Crashlytics the technical details of the failure: where in the code it happened, your device model and operating system version, and a short trail of what the app was doing just before. These never contain your name, your email or anything you wrote, but they do carry an internal identifier for your account. Crashlytics offers us no way to delete one person’s crash reports on request, so deleting your account does not remove them; they are kept for 90 days and then deleted automatically.

Email [email protected] and a person will read it. Use that address if you cannot sign in to delete the account yourself, or if you have a question about what we hold. We aim to reply within two working days.

If you no longer have the app installed, sign in below with the same method you use in the app and delete your account here. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone.
